20 Weeks Today!!

That's HALF way there!! Oh my, how time has flown by!

Well, today marks the half way point! 20 down and 20 to go! We had a doctors appointment Monday and all is well. Dr. Mull listened to baby's heart, checked my peepee, and measured where my uterus is. Nothing too exciting except.....we don't get to have another ultrasound next week like planned!! Boo, hoo, hoo! Dr. Mull said that because we had the specialist's visit last week and the baby measured/looked great that we dont need another ultrasound and that insurance would probably NOT pay for it anyways. So even if we wanted to find out the sex (yes, that's right, we're the CrAzY ones who DONT want to know) we would not have that option since I didn’t find out at the specialist's by myself and there's no appointment next week! Oh well, suppose that’s a "sign" telling us NOT to find out...although I was beginning to feel very tempted to find out next week, but there ya have it-I just ain't gotta choice! :) (Adam's the strong one, still set on not finding out)

So next appointment is November 16th (week 23) and they'll just do the same 'ol....check pee, heart rate, etc but then the NEXT appointment in December I'll have to do the glucose test-YUCK! They make you drink this super sweet stuff and check your blood for gestational diabetes. All for good reason, I know!

I feel the baby MORE and MORE now. I find myself talking to the little munchkin! I like to think he/she is listening to me. It is still so amazing that we are being blessed with a baby! AWESOME! That seems to be the only way we can describe the entire thing-AWESOME!

Welpers, that’s it for this week...OH Adam had his first shift at the fire station this past Sunday and then Wednesday. It was lonely without him but once the baby is here we'll both be busy I am sure!! :)

Ok, love you all and take care of yourselves!! Until next time!

A picture is worth 1,000 words!

See for yourself!
(you can click on the picture and get a bigger image-opens in a new window)

This picture looks like a skeleton but you can see the eyes, nose, and mouth. The baby is using the placenta as a pillow!

Here baby Sweet Pea is blowing you a kiss!! This is the baby's profile and its little hand up by its face. Looks just like Adam doesn’t it?!!?!? j/k!

These pictures were taken yesterday at a perinatal doctor's office. My ob was concerned about a "mass with arterial flow measuring 6.5 cm" seen in the GI docs images, so he sent me to the specialist. But all is well!! Nothing to worry about. It was an 'artifact,' which when used as a medical term basically means a shadowing image in a dense area. Doc said that some women photograph like that, no rhyme or reason why. And since the radiologist two weeks ago only saw a snap shot of the mass and didn't see the baby AND the mass there would be no way for him to tell that it is ONLY an artifact. None the less, it is DEFINITELY NOTHING to worry about!

Baby weighed 10 oz!!! Oh my goodness, that's almost a whole pound!! Baby was measuring almost a week ahead!! Which means we may not have a St. Patties Day baby! Well, thank you all for your prayers, as always God is great!!

Talk to you later!! Love you!!

17 weeks!!

WOW, how time flies!!

Let's see, what's been going on since I last wrote.....I can feel the baby move sometimes, lite swift movements that Adam cannot feel yet. It is so amazingly strange! Involuntary movement-crazy!!

I didn’t write last week because we were at the hospital having GI tract ultrasounds. My OB ordered me to a GI doctor who ordered me to scans of my GI tract....scans were taken of my gallbladder, kidneys, pancreases, etc. The woman performing this ultrasound was WONDERFUL!! She kept showing us baby Sweet Pea! My, how he/she had grown! We could see the little spine and little hands up by its face!! Awwwww, sweet isn’t it? It makes me smile just to write about it again! So, I finally heard back from the GI doc this week and they said that my “C-reactive protein levels were high so that means ‘something’ is inflamed” The nurse said that she would call me back once the doctor had time to review my scans to figure out what was inflamed and what we needed to do. (Probably nuttin’ since I am with child and all, but at least we’ll know what’s going on….cause sheesh, I sure do REALLY hurt/GI cramp sometimes-it’s debilitating.)

Well, I’ve finally become brave enough to post a picture of my growing belly…GULP! (guess it’s the least I can do for those I do not see like I want to) Seems just all of the sudden it just popped out! The picture was taken at 16 weeks 1 day (last Saturday, it’s the most recent I have). By the looks of the picture you would think I had gained a bagillion pounds already but nope, only about 2 or 3 from my starting weight!! Reckon that baby is taking all I consume!!

Ok, that’s all for now! Love you all and hope to see (or at least hear) from you soon!
